Life as a Cleveland: December 2010

Oh what a difference a year makes!

It only seems appropriate that our 100th post is a wrap up of this wonderful, amazing, crazy, life changing year.

Josh and I have gone through so many changes this year. Let me walk you through most of them.

Let me start back with last December.

Josh was blessed with starting an amazing job at Fireaway LLC.
This started the many wonderful changes for the new year.

January:
I was still a Theis.
I was planning our wedding with every spare minute I had, and Josh was trying to keep me sane.
We also had our wedding shower.

Feburary:
Josh was officially hired full time at Fireaway LLC with benefits right before our wedding.
We got married!
Our wedding one of the most amazing days of our life.
We had a very small wedding with our immediate family and grandparents.
We were blessed to have my brother marry us.
He did such a wonderful job and made our day that much more special.

March:
I reshift the focus from planning our wedding to planning the decorations for the MLC gala.

April:
Josh turned 32, and we were ready for the MLC gala.

May:
We celebrate our marriage with our friends and family at our reception.
We got pregnant!
We did a 5k
I turned 32
We also headed to LaCross WI

June:
I headed to Deleware to drive back to Minnesota with my sister and her girls.

July:
We went on our first Theis family camping trip in years.
We went to a Twins game at the new statium with the winners of our reception raffle.
Annette and Sam Kittelson.
Josh stood up proudly and became the godfather of our nephew Grady.

August:
My parents celbrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
We also headed to Wisconson Dells with Jon and Bridget.
I started my fifth school year at MLC

September:
My mom celebrated her 60th birthday
We celebrated Josh's cousins wedding in Iowa, and Stevi's baby shower.
Our nephew was born Van Edward King.
We found out we were having a girl.

October:
We got to meet baby Van, and spend quality time with the Clevelands.

November:
The idea of a home started to go from a dream to more of a reality.
We had our traditional cookie baking day with the Theis women, my baby shower
We celebrated Thanksgiving in Ames.

December:
We bought our first home!
We celebrated our first Christmas together as a married couple.

This has been such a crazy year. We can't wait to see what the year 2011 brings besides our baby girl.

Baby Bump Week 36

Week Thirty-six:
Baby:
Baby Size: 18.75 inches
Baby Weight: just over 5.75 lb.

Your baby is still gaining weight and becoming rounder in appearance. Bythe end of this week your baby will be considered full term.
The presention of your baby is likely head-down. For babies that are not, your practioner may recommend an external cephalic version, a technique to manually manipulate your baby into the head down position.

What they say my body should be doing and feeling:

Just a month away from your due date it's normal to feel tired of being pregnant and anxious for delivery. You might experience a process called lightening, when your baby drops down into your birth canal. This doesn't happen to everyone, but if it does you may notice more room in your abdomen and easier breathing. However, in return you'll feel more pressure in your pelvis and on your bladder which can be generally more uncomfortable.

How I feel:
So tired, and my feet are starting to swell. I continue to have braxton hicks on a consistant basis, but I figure out that I need to drink more water. Which has really helped, but she continues to kick my organs, which often stops me in my tracks. I am so ready to be done. SO READY!

Merry Theis Christmas

We were so excited when my midwife told me we could travel.

We had a very late star, and didn't get to my parents until close to 2:30, but we were so happy to be home.

This looks like trouble!

We first celebrated Sophia's birthday, then we ate the traditional prime rib dinner. Yummy!

Then it was present opening time.

Christmas present opening time.

Bo got a couple of outfits, toys and a tea set. We got 60 hours of cartoons, and some money for the house. Thanks everyone. Then it was time for my siblings and sister-in-laws to open our gifts. We play poker and the winner gets to choose the gift they want. While my parents hang out with their gradkids and put together a gingerbread house.

Jody got first, I got second, and Josh was out the first round. Then Josh and Angela rock paper sissored for the final gift.

The next morning time to eat the gingerbread house.

We headed back with the intent for Josh to go back on Wed. to get more of our stuff from my parents and a snowblower, but we realized we had way to much to do at the apartment still.

(we have to be out by the 31st).

We missed seeing the Cleveland side, but were happy we got to spend part of Christmas with family.

Painting is fun!

Josh painted the whole kitchen then this happened when the tape came off.

It peeled off like wallpaper.

Love the purple in the kitchen, even on the celling.

Purple goes great with red right?

We start all over today, so sad.

Merry Christmas Eve

This Christmas is not going to be like the others, as we will not be traveling to Iowa this year. This is Josh's first Christmas that he will not be home for Christmas, and we are very sad not to be able to spend time with them for Christmas.

We went to see the twins in the Christmas pagent at their church which is always fun to do.

Then we went to Curtis and Angela's for dinner, Yum!

Afterwards we headed home to open our gifts.

First it was Pistols turn.

He could find his balls in anything, they are like a drug to him. It was so fun watching him open his gift I think it took him ten minutes to open it. hehehehe

Then it was our turn to open our presents from each other.

Josh: pink baseball for him and Bo, a daddy loves me shirt for Bo, and Apples to Apples

Chrissy: A frame with the words family on it, a frame that says I Love my Mommy, an ornament for Pistol, a snow globe, and an ornament for the tree.

The best present of all though was the gift of our first home together as a family.
Last we opened our presents from Jess and Jamie

From Jess: A frame that says "Having someone to love is family. Having somewhere to go is a home. Having both is a blessing." and a ornament that is a key that says " First Christmas in our new home" as well as an ornament that is the year 2010. Thanks Jess, I love them.

From Jamie: Baseball cards, Baseball card frame, and "Hart and Soul", a collection of old school wrestling DVDs. Josh was so excited can't you tell. Thanks Jamie he loves it.
For Bo from Maddox and Grady two adorable outfits thanks boys.

Now for a day of enjoying the bed and painting the house. We head to Sauk for the day tomorrow.

Baby Bump week 35 and Midwife apt.

Week Thirty-five:
Baby:
Baby Size: 18 inches
Baby Weight: just over 5.25 lb.

At this point, all of your baby's major organs should be nearly complete. Your baby's kidneys are completely developed and her liver is functional and capable of processing waste products.

What they say my body should be doing and feeling:

around this time many practitioners recommend that a Group B streptococcus (GBS) culture be taken from the rectal and vaginal area. While harmless in most healthy adults, it can be passed onto your newborn during delivery and cause life-threatening infections. Many women are unaware they carry GBS in their system because it may not exhibit and symptoms. With proper preparation, testing and treatment, if necessary, overall risk is low.

How I feel:

Nauseous I think this is worse then the first trimester because now I am bigger and going up and down the stairs is a little harder then when we lived in the apartment.

I also have been have Braxton Hickscontractions like crazy, they often wake me up in the middle of the night. I think she might come in the middle of the night. I look forward to that one with Josh, hehehehe

She has also started to lower, so now I have cramping from her wanting to to get ready come out. I guess it is just all part of the process. We are getting so excited for her arival.

Doctor Apt.

I had my seventh doctor appointment

Everything was great.

She said I could travel to Sauk for Christmas, we were very excited to hear that.

Now for housekeeping:

Blood Pressure: 96/64

Baby's heart beat: 152

Fundal Height: 35 cm

Total Weight gain: 38 lbs.

New Fridge, Microwave/Vent, & Stove

Fits perfect!

First finish painting, put fridge where is belongs, then install the microwave/vent, (that is still in the box), right above the stove that is coming next week.
