Midwife Appointment Week 21

This was such an uneventful appointment, so sorry in advance.

Baby #2 Heartbeat 150 beats per minute. Right on target.
I love that they are normal.  I also LOVE hearing our babies heartbeat.
She sounds so healthy in there, and she has really been moving a lot lately already making it more fun to be pregnant this time around.

My midwife said the the second pregnancy is often more difficult then the first one, but I said it has been so much easier this time around.  I was always sick when I was pregnant with Bo and hated most of the process, this time around just seems easier.  Maybe it's less worry, or maybe its just easier either way it has made me hate being pregnant far less this time around.

Bo at 22 week midwife appointment Overview:

Made my day

Today has just been a very emotional day.  However, Bo just made it better, by giving my belly kisses and saying "I love you baby sister", then as she headed up to bed she said "Good night Mommy, good night Wrigley, good night baby sister".
After a really tough day that just really brought my spirits up.  Thanks Bo for making your Mommy's day bearable.

Baby Weight

Baby
This week your baby's skin will become covered with a waxy-like substance called vernix which will protect his skin from becoming scratched or chapped.

Your baby is also starting to produce meconium, the result of digestion, which will accumulate in his bowels and eventually pass during delivery or in his first diaper.
Body
You've officially reached the halfway point of your pregnancy! At this stage your uterus is even with your bellybutton and you may have gained 10 to 13 pounds. You'll likely have your second major ultrasound soon where your doctor will check on your baby's development. If your baby cooperates you may even be able to determine the sex, if you choose to find out.
Me:
After finding out that we are having a girl, I have started to really image Bo having a little sister.  The moments they will share and the times they will have together. The weeks keep flying by, and I am getting more and more excited everyday to meet her.
Cravings: Peanut Butter, Celery, Olives, and Pickles

Bo's Birthday Take 2

Friday Night my parents came down, and picked up my uncle Tom from the airport.
We loved having them for the weekend
Reading stories with Great Uncle Tom
This last weekend we celebrated Bo's birthday again with the Theis side of the family, and Bo shared her birthday celebration with her cousin Calvin.
We started our day together at Fuddruckers celebrating the upcoming addition to the family.  (It has been a tradition of my parents to take us all out to eat together with every new addition to the family)

After lunch we headed over to Edinborough Park so the kids could play in the indoor playground.
Her big cousins were so protective and loved taking her around

Sophia, Bo, & Calvin

Bo's so lucky she got to have see both sides of her family for her birthday, and get sang to twice

Visitors

Josh's parents came down last weekend, and we loved spending time with them.
Playing Ponies with cousin Avery
Reading bedtime stories with Grandma Cleveland

Teaching Grandpa how to use dad's new phone

Sunday we headed to church then out to brunch.  Then we had a great time at Jamie and Emily's to watch the end of the game
Playing catch with Avery

Tea Party
Angry Birds!

The Reveal

Josh couldn't make it to the ultra sound appointment, so I had the technician check what the baby was and write it on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope.

I decided to wear this shirt I got from Erica it just seemed appropriate for today

What I did find out is that our baby looks good, we saw all 4 chambers of the heart and all the joints were connected were they are suppose to be.  Overall, our baby looks beautiful.

Face

Big Theis foot

After the appointment Bo and I headed to the store to get some balloons so that we could all find out together when Josh got home from work.  I handed them the envelope and and took a walk around the store.  After they sealed up the box we headed home to wait.

When Josh got home we opened the box together.

So excited to be a big sister, and to have a little sister
I was certain it was a boy, so I was a bit in shock.  However, the shock is over, and I can't wait to for our baby girl to arrive.

Baby
Many of your baby's senses are developing as specialized areas in the brain are being designated for smell, taste, hearing, vision and touch.

Millions of motor neurons are continuing to develop in your baby's brain allowing more controlled and conscious movement.

Have you felt your baby kick yet? Don't forget to check out the BabyBump Kick Counter included in this app and track your baby's daily movement and kicks!
Body
Your growing belly is probably obvious to others around you and you may feel the physical effects of it too. Most pregnant women experience backache at some point during their pregnancy. You may notice discomfort in your posture as your center of gravity shifts forward putting more strain on your back. Hormonal increases also contribute to abdominal pain by relaxing the muscles around your waist allowing the uterus to grow.
Me
This week has flown by, and I can't believe that in less then a week we are going to know what our baby is and starting calling our baby by it's name.  We are still undecided on a girls name, but we have our boys name picked out.  Bo is completely convinced that she is having a brother and she is constantly touching my stomach saying baby, baby brother.  It's going to be really fun letting her come to the ultrasound with me, so she can see if she is going to have a baby brother or a baby sister.  The only complaint I have this week is that I have a had a kink in my neck all week and I can't seem to get rid of it.

Week 19

Baby Cleve #2 week 18

Week 18

Baby Size
5.6 in
sweet potato
Baby Weight
6.7 oz

Baby
Many of the bones in your baby's body are starting to harden. Among these first bones to develop is the inner ear which is part of the reason why your baby might be able to hear sounds such as your heart beating or your tummy growling.

Body
As you settle into your second trimester you'll likely gain your appetite back. Eating healthy and getting enough protein is important at this stage as your body needs approximately 300 extra calories to help your baby develop. Equally important is continuing with exercising; keep moderation in mind and do not to begin any new, strenuous workouts.important for your developing baby

Me: this pregnancy has been so much easier then Bo's and is just flying by. The number one difference is that this week I got to finally got to feel the baby move. It is so much less stressful with the feeling of your baby moving. I am loving that part of being pregnant. The baby always starts really moving around the same time every night, right after Bo goes to bed, or maybe that's just the first time of the day I sit still long enough to enjoy the baby. Either way I can't wait to see our baby again in less then a week.

Week 18, Josh decided to photo bomb this one.

Boy or Girl

Next Monday we will find out if Bo is going to have a little brother or little sister. Cast your vote in the comments.

Baby Cleveland #2 Week 17

Week 17
Baby Size

Baby Weight
5.9 oz
Baby
This week your baby has mastered some simple reflexes such as swallowing, sucking and blinking. Your baby may even have a bout of hiccups.

Fat is also forming underneath your baby's skin and will continue to do so in the later months of your pregnancy. This will help prepare your baby for the temperature change from inside your womb to the outside world.
Body
In the second trimester many women notice more significant growth in belly size. And if you haven't noticed round ligament pain before, you're likely to feel it now as your uterus continues to increase in size and push your intestines upward. You may have also noticed that you've started to shift your weight to help balance your belly.
This week has flown by, I still haven't felt the baby move.  I really hope I get to feel this baby move, it was so hard to never feel Bo move or kick.  I look forward to my midwife appointments just so I can hear the heartbeat, and know that our baby is doing OK.  Two more weeks until we get to find out what our baby is, can't wait.

Happy birthday Bo

Dear Bo,
I lay in bed this morning watching you sleep 2 feet away from me, I am still in ahh that you are ours. You are such a beautiful girl inside and out.  I can already see the care and compassion you have for others.  You love us so much and show us everyday with your big hugs and wet kisses.  You always give Pistol and Wrigley hugs and kisses before leave in the morning and before you go to bed.  They are a part of our family and you never forget it.  Your independent, but it's only because you know what to do, so you don't want us to help you.  You know when to ask for help when it gets to tough, but not until you have tried to do it yourself first.  I hope that never goes away because that will get you so far in life.  You love Dora and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and ask to watch both of them constantly.  Puzzles and coloring are your favorite things to do.  You can put all of your board puzzles together by yourself and can also name every shape, animal, vehicle, and sound they make as you put them together.  You are so smart.  You really analyze what is you g on around you before you jump in, but you also take time for yourself when it's to overwhelming.  I could learn a thing or two from you. You are an amazing.
Love Mom

Happy 2nd Birthday

Love you baby girl

Baby Cleveland #2 Week 16

Week 16
Baby Size

Baby Weight

Baby
This week your baby's limbs are much more developed, legs and arms are longer and are becoming more controlled in movement.

Your baby's skeletal system is developing more as calcium is deposited onto the bones. Over the next couple of weeks your baby's weight will double.
Body
Well into your second trimester, you're probably feeling a lot better as most of the first trimester symptoms continue to go away. You'll probably begin to notice stretching or discomfort around your navel and surrounding abdominal area. This is caused by the round ligaments when they stretch and thicken to support your growing uterus.

If you're lucky, you may have felt your baby kick for the first time. This is one of the most special moments in your pregnancy. This experience is also called quickening, and you may begin to feel this fluttery sensation now or in the coming weeks. Most women report noticing their baby move around weeks 16 to 22.

Helpful hint: Check out the BabyBump Kick Counter included in this app and track your baby's daily movement and kicks!
Week 16: Exhausted! I really can't believe how tired I have been this pregnancy, I guess its better then being sick all day.  I also forget that I am pregnant all of the time, maybe its because I have Bo, maybe its just because I've been through this already, or just maybe its because this pregnancy it so different then with Bo.  Either way I am getting more and more excited for this baby to come everyday.
