Up North, My kind of place

We headed up north to spend a whole week on the lake with Josh's family.  We were all so excited to go especially Bo.  She asked who was going for a whole week before, and we would go through all of the names of the people going.  I was really impressed with her because I would name someone in the family and 4 out of 5 times she would be able to name rest of the people from the family.  Uncle Mitch was married to everyone though, lucky uncle Mitch.  We also couldn't get in the car with without Bo asking if Grandma and Grandpa would be at our house when we got home, or if we were on our way to go fishing with her cousins.  It is amazing how much she is understanding now a days.

I took a lot of pictures, so I will try to share some of my favorites.
Are we there yet?
We got to Finn and Feather on Lake Andrusia mid-afternoon, and we went straight down to the lake to check it out.  The kids were so excited.
Checking out the beach
While I spent my days looking at this, Josh spent his days on the boat looking for fish.
This is my kind of life
Our Cabin was the reunion cabin (it has 8 bedrooms, but we only used 5 one for each family)
Look at all this beautiful wood.
Snack Time
Grandma Chris got the kids Finn & Feather tee-shirts which the adults ended up taking over (except for Avery she was determined to finish it by herself)
The adults taking over the kids project, except Avery was a trooper

Monday morning Jess had to head back to Iowa with Maddox & Ada. We're so glad they got to be there even if it was just for a little while.

So Sad

Have fun at school Maddox
Bo loved hanging out with all of her cousins, but she especially loved being by Avery.  She wanted to do everything Avery was doing, and always wanted to know where she was.
Let's go to the park Avery
We took the girls swimming (well really just Bo, but we had to put Pyper in her swimsuit my mom got her at least once this summer).
Swim time
We also had a chance to go out on the boat as a family.  Bo caught the only fish, but I scared her when she tried to touch it and almost grabbed the hook.  Let's just say the fishing moving scared her enough to be done fishing for the rest of the trip.
Family time on the boat
The kids had lots of fun with all their cousins, but they really loved grandma time too.
Story time with Grandma
Evening fires after the kids went to be were always a big hit too.  I usually brought Pyper down with me because we didn't bring a monitor (note for next time bring a monitor), and she is just so inconsistent on her sleep habits that I didn't want to risk it.  Thank goodness for the Moby I was able to keep her completely covered from the smoke and bugs.

Wed. we headed into Bemidji, so I could show of my Alma mater.  Luckily I was able to get a hold of my track coach, so I could introduce him to my family.  Coach decided to meet us in town for lunch then volunteered to give us a tour of the rec center.  There are a lot of cool changed that have happened since I graduated in 2000, but a few sad ones too.  They tore out the track, and they will not be replacing it.

Hanging on the pontoon
Thursday we rented a pontoon for the day and we spent the whole day on it.  It was so nice to have all of on the lake together.

It was so nice for all of the "original" Cleveland kids to be able to hang out together and fish too.

It was so nice to be able to be on the pontoon the girls, and Pyper really seemed to like the motion of the lake too.

Josh got to drive the pontoon with both his girls too

Friday was a sad day because we had to pack up and leave, but we loved that when we got back into town everyone came over to enjoy the beautiful weather and pizza.
Great way to end our vacation together.

Can't wait to go back again in 2 years.
Now back to work I go

Pyper's 1 month Dr Appointment

You normally don't have a one month appointment, but because this was the first appointment we could get with our pediatrician Dr B. we decided to keep the appointment.  We did get her 2 month appointment scheduled with him though, and I am going to try to schedule the following appointments before I leave.  This will hopefully prevent us from having to go to different doctors all the time, and for me to remember to make the appointment.
(Be a little more on top of this one then we were with Bo)

Pyper is a healthy baby, and perfect in every way.  However, Dr. B said that he things she is not gaining enough weight.  He said at this point she should be gaining an ounce a day.  I told him that she eats all the time, but spits up a lot, and is constantly pooping and peeing (We go through about 20 diapers a day).  He told me not to worry to much, and just keep feeding her 8-12 times a day.  I might start actually documenting her feedings just to make sure she is eating enough though.

Our thoughts about the past month:
Our world has turned upside down.  We were so use to our routine with Bo, that adding you have been quite the adjustment for us.  However, as we have adjusted to having to take care of two precious little girls it has only made our hearts grow bigger and love every moment you are in our world. You love when your sister talks to you, if often calms you faster then mom and dad can.  You loved to be held close, and often like to have your head by mommy's neck.  You have a hard time being put down even for a little while.  The Moby has really become my new best friend with you, you could sleep in there for hours.  You are very gassy, and need to be burped often to help your tummy feel better.  We also need to keep  burp cloth close because you often spit up a lot right after you eat.  You know exactly what you like and dislike, and your dad and I are slowly figuring that out.  We love you so much already, it feels like you have been a part of our life forever.
