Our new normal...

There are so many things that are different this time around, but I will get to that post soon.
For now I want to show our new normal in pictures.
SISTERLY HUGS

Falling asleep in our arms

Breakfast at the bar

Snuggles with Pistol
Finding our thumb
Tea Parties with cousins
Early nights after weddings, and our oldest still up to photo bomb us
Helping daddy with his ever changing basement remodels

Cuddle time with this one

Songs from this one

Finishing our 4:00am feedings and not wanting to move her
I love our new normal, even if its a lot more work.

Fight Fight Fight for Iowa

After getting new carpet into the basement, it really made our staircase looked awful.  So we started talking about what we wanted to do that would cost effective, but still look good.

Our stairs when we bought our house almost 3 years ago

Our stairwell after taking the ugly orange carpet out about a year and a half ago
Josh started talking about making the staircase ceiling look like a Hawkeye helmet, and to his surprise I said sure why not. So the next day we headed to Maynard's and bought some black and yellow paint to start our project.

We weren't really able to start it until last weekend when Josh and Bo got the first coat of black on the walls.
Josh preparing the ugly purple wall for it;s new coat of paint

Showing Bo how to paint

Such a great helper and artist.

Black paint on now it's time to take off the painter tape

Check out our new black walls
Then it was time to add our decals, so Josh got to drawing.
Josh free handing the tiger hawk
Then we spent some quality time cutting it out after the kids went to bed.
our template

Now time to trace the templates onto the walls.
America Needs Farmers

Tiger Hawk #1

Tiger Hawk #2 (check out the new lights on the side of the stairs, their motion censored, no more dark staircase)
Then time for some paint.
Starting to come together
This project is a coming along nicely, but we still have a ways to go.
Several more coats of paint
The strip on the ceiling
Adding the number 11 to the back of the "helmet" as well as the USA flag
Painting the stairs black
Put the stair treads on
Add the Iowa winning song to the rise of the stair case.

(Just so you know taking pictures at night of a shinny black stairwell is hard)

Stay tuned as we finish our personalized stairwell.

High Ho High Ho it's Back to Work I Go

September 30th was my first full day back to work. Also our first day of our nanny/great friend's day of work.
I will miss hanging out with these two for most of my day.
But I love that they will be in the arms of this loving woman. (Sorry for the bad picture Laurie its the only one I had)
I am really glad I love my job because going back to work full time was a lot harder then I thought it would be.  However, I'm going to love coming home for lunch every Thursday, and get to spend midday cuddle time with these cuties.

Pyper's routine:
Her sleep habits have been so inconsistent, some nights she sleeps for 6 hour stretches and other nights she wakes up every 2 hours.  TWO hours! Those nights suck, when those nights happen I am a zombie at work.  Sometimes I'm surprised I get through those days.

Highlights of the month:
Meeting her great-grandma Mary

Got our 4 generation picture

Hung out with all of my Minnesota cousins

Sent Mommy back to work looking like this (Don't work it was mix and match day, not sleep deprivation)

Any big changes that occurred:

Found my thumb

Working on my grip, and tracking my sister

Pyper's favorites:
·         Toys: hanging toys, things that make noise
·         Food: Breast milk
·         Books:None yet
·         Song: Anything her sister sings to her
·         People: Bo, Mom, Dad
·         Misc.: Being swaddled, snuggling with mommy

Love my sister, and really love our matching outfits

Love my mornings with my sister
Pyper’s Dislikes:
Being tired, hungry, wet, poopy, being put down even if I'm already sleeping

Our thoughts about the past month:
You are becoming quite vocal, and certainly don't want to be left out of anything.  When we lay you on the ground you a love to move and we often find you turned the other way, which often frustrates you because you are further way from your toys then you wanted to be.  Your really strong too, you can hold your own weight on your legs and love to stand. You LOVE your sister, and she loves you too.  Your the first one she wants to see in the morning, and can't go to bed without saying good night to you.  You are one luck girl.  We love watching you grow and learn new things.
