Crafty Homemaker

I wasn't feeling well Friday, so I stayed home from work.  Bo still went to daycare, and I got some much needed sleep which helped me feel 100% and crafty.

So I crafted

Felt board and Felt pieces to put on it (I'm really proud of the Mr. & Mrs Potato heads)

The first one just wasn't quite big enough so I made another one in cream that is much bigger

Then we played with home-aid play dough (a gift from one of my students parents)

Bo's first pumpkin from our garden, look how perfect it is

Not sure if Bo or the pumpkin has more paint on them

Then I decided to cook this weekend too

Dutch Baby Pancakes

Crook-pot Chicken (butter, Italian dressing and lemon juice)

 Squash from the garden

Roasted Squash seeds

We also re-arranged Bo's room and the basement. 

We needed to get the potty chair out of the closet that the TV was in front of, time for Bo to start getting use to seeing it out.  No were not ready for potty training, we are going to wait until she moves to the other side at daycare otherwise potty training will be pointless.  However, that time will be here before we know it and I want her to start seeing it.

 

21 months and counting...

Bo has being growing right before our eyes, and it's not slowing down anytime soon.

Bo brought several chairs over to try to figure out how to sit by her daddy

She has also been talking up a storm. You can usually figure out what she is saying through signs and pointing. She has also started to form 2-3 word sentences.

 I wish I would write down more of what she says, but oh well, you get the point.

She is also in love with her board puzzles she can locate all of the pieces by name and often makes the sounds that go with the picture as well.

A few of her new favorite things to do are jump (at least her version of jumping)

She also likes to grab your finger (when your sitting down) and pull you up while saying up, and 

She loves to run back and forth in the basement and says mark go and does it all over again.

She thinks checking out what is in the oven is fun too. 

Good thing our oven door doesn't get hot when it's on.

Saturday we headed over to Jamie and Emily's for some Hawkeye football and Jamie Chili. (or as Jamie likes to call it "A little sweet, a little heat, and a lot of meat).  Either way Jamie makes some mean chili, and the Hawkeye's didn't disappoint.

Chris and Mark joined us later and so did Nieps and his mom Sue.  

 

We had a great time visiting all of them.

but most of all I loved watching Bo follow Avery around and do almost everything she did.

 Then Sunday we headed to Apple Jacks Orchard

Weekend Report

It was family weekend for work so we had lots to do this weekend.

Kickball on Friday afternoon

Bo as also very full of energy this weekend, and it was adorable.

Weekend of new adventures

Friday Night we headed to Minneapolis, to celebrate Josh's co-worker Ryan and his beautiful fiance Tricia tie the knot.  In the last couple of years we have gotten rather close to the couple, so it was really fun to enjoy their day with them.

Then Saturday Afternoon Bo and I headed to Sauk to trade cars with my parents so we could finally get the brakes fixed.  Bo and I had a great time hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa Theis.  I also got to spend some quality time with Annette and her girls, which is always fun.

Sunday was a busy day for Bo, with lots of new adventures and animals to meet.

First we headed out to the Eagle's Nest (The new facility in Sauk for former soldiers with PTSD) to give them a ficus (tree) and then we headed to meet the new horses that where donated to the facility.

Then out to my cousin Wendy's farm to meet some cows.

Then of course back to Papa & Mame's to watch the Vikings and have "my mom" food.

 I was really impressed that she wasn't scared of any of the horses or cows, but the calves kind of startled her with their desire to lick her.  However, that didn't stop her from trying to pet them anyway.

Loving watch her grow and learn.
