Thanksgiving Part 2

Thursday night Chad, Stevi and Van got in around 10pm, and we headed out to do a little black Friday shopping, while Josh stayed home to watch the kids.

This was my first Black Friday experience, we dropped Chad off at Best Buy to wait in line and Stevi and I headed to Walmart.  That was a big mistake, Walmart was awful.  It was so unorganized, I think it took as a half hour to get out any we didn't even buy anything.  We headed back to give Chad his wallet, and he decided to come join us at Target.  What a much better experience, and Stevi got everything she wanted.

Friday Stevi and I headed over to hang out with Emily and Avery and make some pies and appetizers for Saturday's feast.  While Josh and Chad stayed home with Van and Bo.  Mark and Chris got there around 3 and they spend some quality time with them.  We headed over around 7 and waited for Jamie to get there, so they could watch the taped Iowa vs Nebraska game.

Saturday we headed over to Jamie and Emily's for a delicious turkey dinner, and some Quality time with the Cleveland's (minus Jess, Mitch and the boys).

Sunday morning we headed back, and enjoyed more quality time with everyone.

What a great Thanksgiving weekend, we're so glad the Cleveland's and King's were able to come up.  Thanks Jamie and Emily for hosting, we appropriate it.

Thanksgiving Part 1

I had most of Thanksgiving week off, so I headed to my parents, so they could have some quality time with Bo, oh and me too.

While I was home, and mom and dad were able to help me watch Bo, I was able to decorate my cookies for the Theis cookie backing day.  (5 dozen reindeer, and 3 dozen snowman, I still have 3 dozen more to make, I will post pics of those next week).  I also made 3 dozen turkey's for Thanksgiving.

Josh headed up after work Wednesday night, and Bo waited up for him.  It was so cute, and kind sad too because when she saw him she started crying until he came up the stairs to pick her up.  I think she was just so happy to see him, it was the longest time she has been away from him.  Then she wouldn't stop looking at him, so he got to put her to bed. 

Charlie, Jody and the kids arrived shortly after, and we spend the rest of the night playing games.

The next morning Bo got to spend some quality time with them too.

 We had a great time with my family, and we headed back home to wait for the King's. (more about that in my next post)

We did a little cuddling, and Bo headed to bed.  She'll have to wait until morning to see her Aunt, Uncle and cousin Van.

All that fun wore me out.

It's puzzle Season!



If you don't know already Josh and I love doing puzzles together. As winter quickly approches puzzles have started to come back into our weekend routine.
 
 Our favorite puzzles are the 1000 piece, Hometown Collection featuring art from Heronim.

 I will have to look back to see how many we have already done, I would say close to 20 though. We get all of our puzzles at Target for about $4.00 a pop, which is a cheep alternitive to going to the movies or even out to eat. We wait until we put Bo to bed, and out comes the puzzle, (sexy I know). In the days prior to Bo we could usually bust one out in a weekend, but this one has taken us two, and we are only 80% done. Oh well, just more fun for us.

On Friday afternoon as we were Skyping with Cathie, Ed and the girls Bo took 8 steps straight to the computer. 

It was so fun to share that moment with my sister and Bo's cousins. 

Isn't technology amazing.

Bo has also started to walk on her knees too, and when she goes down she usually goes down slow, almost as if she realizes I was just walking and I'm not sure I want to do that yet. 

As Josh discribes it, she looks like a catcher.

This weekend she decided that the stairs was her new challenge, and away she went.

We bought this outfit for our niece for our wedding, but is was already to small for her, it is so fun to see Bo in it. 
It makes me feel like she was a part of that very special day with her dad and I.

She is getting into everything, notice how empty the low shelves are.

Pistol is always close behind

Tooth Alert

We have seen it under her gums for almost six weeks, but that dang tooth has been coming in and out, in and out, and in and out.  We were really starting to get mad at that tooth. But it finally popped through last Friday for good.  Bo has been so much happier, and so have we.

I was so worried that she was going to have a gaping hole in the front of her mouth, when my dear husband reminded me that they may not always grow in the way they say they do in the books.  After doing some research on the Internet apparently this is more common than I thought.  Nothing to worry about.  =)

First Steps

Bo has been getting braver and braver everyday with her walking.

Today she turned from the table and just stood there all by herself.  (She has been doing this a lot lately, but usually just for a few seconds and she sits down, and crawls away.) Then she just looked at me and took a big step, and just stood there again.  She looked at me like look mom I didn't fall.  Josh came running in and she tried to take another step with the same foot, but then fell down.  Someone has to teach her that you need to move the other foot if she wants to keep going.  (9 1/2 months)

Halloween 2011

Bo's first Halloween started on Saturday, when we headed to my brother Charlie's to enjoy quality time with with family and some of Charlie and Jody's friends.  My co-worker borrowed Bo a bee costume which was adorable on her.  I went as a bouquet of flowers and Josh went as a Monk.  (He was suppose to go as the guy from scream, but the mask started to leak so we improvised)

I'm not a huge fan of Halloween, but this year was a little different.  I loved the idea of dressing up our baby girl and seeing her in her costume.

Monday morning was Halloween and we had to dress Bo up for daycare, and I already had a cute panda bear costume, and I didn't want it to go to waste.  I really didn't want to use the bee costume for daycare because I was worried it would get wreaked before trick or treating. 

We decided to take her trick or treating to just around our block to the neighbors we knew.  It was so fun to show off her cuteness, and have her wave at all of our neighbors.

Then we let Bo look at all of her candy before we sent her off to bed, and waited for the neighbor kids to stop by.
